The second consecutive SOS Design Festival will be opened on Wednesday, 9 October beginning at 9:30 in Gallery ALU with an exhibition called ‘Images from the Underground: Poster from the Subway from 1947 Until Now’ by the School of Visual Arts in New York. After that, at 20:00, there will be a lecture by Francisco Di Tommas on the same topic.
The exhibition of photographs gathers 52 of the posters made at the School of Visual Arts that are set in the vast New York subway system, and it offers insight into the history of the college and its shared talent of its recognized faculties for design and illustration.
The curator of the exhibition is Executive Vice-President of the School of Visual Arts Anthony P. Rhodes, who is the Creative Director for Posters since 2007.
