st. louisCitizens of BiH who live in St. Louis, Missouri, the biggest BiH diaspora community, gathered on Sunday in order to give their support to the Sarajevo protests for the adoption of a law on the unique master citizen number (JMB).

The gathering was initiated by the social network “Facebook” by youth who carried placards that read “St. Louis and JMB” and “We do not want entities, we want identities”.

Carol Howard, the mayor of the municipality Bevo in which most of the residents of BiH origin live, gave support to this protest, announced the organizers.

“We gathered here today to support our citizens in BiH who are fighting for their basic human rights. Today we have received sad news that our baby Berina Hamidović has died. This is sad and really unforgiveable. I do not know what we can do from here for our citizens in BiH apart from telling them to be persistent in this fight. We hope that the Parliament will wake up and start doing their job’’, said Elma Mujanović for the BiH-American weekly ‘SabaH’.
