Heavy rain and wind that hit the Australian federal state of Tasmania caused a power outage that affected as many as 30,000 residents.
According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), emergency officials announced that several days of high winds were still affecting residents of the state.
Stating that heavy rain and wind left about 30 thousand users without electricity, the authorities called on citizens to be ready to leave the region in case of possible floods.
Authorities said they expected the adverse weather conditions affecting the state of Tasmania to worsen and warned that some properties in the region could be flooded.
Police said that due to heavy rain and wind, which are still ongoing, many roads in the region are closed, and flooding has been reported in some parts of the federal state.
