The strong wind that has hit the mountainous area of Staretina Golija in recent days has caused significant damage.
The Forest Economic Association of Hercegbosanska Suma d.o.o Kupres said that the wind caused wind gusts, but also windbreaks in 4 departments of forest stands of all ages, and the most damaged was spruce and fir wood.
In the field, works have started on cleaning the forest truck roads in order to start repairing the damage.
“While in the case of windbreaks most of the mass will be used for technical wood, in the case of windbreaks the wood mass has been destroyed and the only thing possible with that wood is to sell it in biomass,” said SGD Hercegbosanske šume d.o.o Kupres.
