safet sušić2“The captain of the national football team of B&H stays Edin Džeko.” – pointed out for Anadolu Agency Safet Sušić, the selector of the national football team of B&H. He placed Emir Spahić, former captain of the team who finished officially his carrier in the team, on the list of the representatives again.

Questioned if Spahić will come, Sušić answered:

“He will. We arranged it all. He called me before the match with Cyprus and wished me luck. When we lost I called him back and asked him to return to the team. I gave him a few days to think it over. We spoke several times and arranged it all finally on Saturday. So, Spahić will be a member of the team again and will be of great use to us in the qualifying matches for the EURO 2016. Without him our defence is much weaker. I saw that during the match against Cyprus and that is why I decided to call him back.”

The selector said to Spahić that Džeko remains captain. Spahić approved it with thrill, because he and Džeko are great friends.- said Sušić.

22 other players are on Sušić’s list for the qualifications for the EC against Wales and Belgium: Asmir Begović, Jasmin Fejzić, Ratko Dujković – golmani; Ognjen Vranješ, Ermin Bičakčić, Toni Šunjić, Avdija Vršajević, Mensur Mujdža, Sejad Salihović, Gojko Cimirot, Haris Medunjanin, Senad Lulić, Miralem Pjanić, Izet Hajrović, Goran Zakarić, Sanjin Prcić, Anel Hadžić, Tino Sven Sušić, Muhamed Bešić, Edin Džeko, Vedad Ibišević and  Edin Višća.
The footballers of the BH national team will gather on October 6th in the Training centre of the Football federation of B&H in Zenica.

B&H will play against Wales in Cardiff on October 10th at 19:45 o’clock while three days later it will host Belgium in Zenica, in a match to be held at 20:45 o’clock. In the first round of qualifications B&H was defeated at home by Cyprus with 1:2 which really was a surprise.
