conceptual project PaleSki-center Ravna mountain, just 3 kilometers from the center of Pale, 15 kilometers from Jahorina and 17 kilometers from Sarajevo, has become quite a tourist attraction recently.

After being added to the list of world ski resorts, after it received FIS approval for the organization of international competitions, this center is on the list next to world-famous ski resorts such as Kitzbuhel and Kranjska Gora.

Young architect Vladan Golijanin did a project for tourist-recreational and sports center in Pale.

“Many countries in the world realize most of the revenue from tourism from mountain tourism. Mountain tourism in BiH has favorable natural resources such as rivers, mountain and clean air that enables different types of tourism such as sports, health, ecological, hunting, fishing, scientific, educational, adventurous, extreme and others types of tourism,” said Golijanin, adding that the best example of this potential in municipality Pale are Jahorina Mountain, Ravna Mountain, Romanija and the environment.

“Pale are known as a health resort and a favorite picnic place for their natural beauty, clean air, beautiful conifer forests, mountain meadows and abundant sources of water. The beauty of the environment, clean air and proximity to the ski slopes on Mount Jahorina represent a natural disposition and real basis for the development of tourism,” he said.

Tourist and recreational center are aimed to complete the tourist offer of the municipality of Pale, and to compile various program units in relation to the new trends of mountain tourism. The main motives of tourists visiting tourist-recreation center would be health, leisure, recreation, sport and education.

The center is designed as a facility of mountain type, with a variety of sports, recreational and educational programs throughout the year. Due to an extremely attractive location that is surrounded by various tourist potentials, the center aims to network into a single unit and thus enrich the tourist offer of the Municipality of Pale and the region.

As the most dominant “marker” in the area is the existing artificial lake around which everything will be radially expanding. The lake is currently used for artificial snowing of ski slopes, it has an irregular shape that reminds on circle with diameter of about 70 meters and as such occupies an area of 3612 square meters.
