Tate Brothers Charged With Rape, Human Trafficking, And Violence In The UK

The United Kingdom (UK) prosecution has confirmed that a total of 21 charges have been brought against brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, known influencers and former athletes, including rape, infliction of bodily harm, and human trafficking.

Andrew Tate (38) faces 10 charges, including rape, human trafficking, and procuring for gain. The charges relate to three alleged victims. His brother, Tristan Tate (36), is charged with 11 counts, which also include rape and human trafficking, related to one alleged victim.

Both hold the UK and United States (U.S.) citizenship and are currently under investigation in Romania as well, where proceedings are underway against them on suspicion of trafficking minors, sexual relations with underage girls, and money laundering – all charges they deny.

A spokesperson for the UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated:

“We confirm that we have authorized the filing of charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for criminal offenses including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution, and infliction of bodily harm against three women. These charges followed the submission of evidence by Bedfordshire Police.”

UK authorities issued a European arrest warrant at the beginning of 2024, and a Romanian court approved the extradition of Andrew Tate and his brother to the UK. However, the extradition will be carried out only after the conclusion of proceedings in Romania.

The CPS emphasized that criminal proceedings are ongoing and that the accused have the right to a fair trial, calling on the public to refrain from commenting or sharing information that could affect the course of the investigation.

The alleged actions for which they are charged date from the period between 2012 and 2015, while they were living in the UK. Interestingly, in 2019 the authorities decided not to press charges, which drew criticism from the victims’ lawyers.

Lawyer Matt Jury, who represents several alleged UK victims of Andrew Tate, stated:

“We welcome the clarity of the CPS and the fact that everything is being done to ensure the Tates are brought before UK courts. At the same time, we call on the CPS to acknowledge the mistake of not filing charges in 2019, and to finally prosecute Andrew Tate also based on the complaints of three other women who filed charges as early as 2014.”

Andrew Tate is a former professional kickboxer and self-proclaimed motivational speaker, known for his extravagant lifestyle, including luxury cars, watches, and private jets. He has over 10 million followers on the platform X (formerly Twitter), and runs an online academy for young men in which he promotes ideas about wealth and “male dominance.”

The brothers grew up in the English town of Luton, as sons of a U.S. chess master, and former U.S. military sergeant, and a UK hospitality worker, N1 writes.
