The rescue teams found the tools used by the miner who was buried by several tons of earth in the pit of the “Mramor” lignite mine near Tuzla, which indicates that he is nearby, said the president of the “Kreka” Mine Workers’ Union, Zuhdija Tokić.

Tokić added that this is an indication that no mistakes were made and that we are going in the right direction with the aim of finding the miners.

“Supersede efforts are being made. The conditions are very complicated and complex, the landslide is constantly present,” said Tokić and added that work had been going on continuously all night, and that it continued this morning in order to reach the miners as soon as possible.

He stated that four rescue units work continuously, and that they are the best people in the “Kreka” mine who know how to do it according to the instructions of the federal inspector and other competent authorities, federal media reported.

“Shifts are made on the spot so that work is not interrupted. There is a huge amount of soil that has collapsed, it is exclusively done manually, carefully and slowly, so as not to cause more damage,” said Tokić.

The miner’s rescue operation has been ongoing since yesterday morning, when he was trapped in the pit of the Mramor Lignite Mine near Tuzla after a large amount of earth collapsed.
