Regarding the public announcement of the Israeli Ambassador to BiH Galit Peleg, the City Administration of the City of Sarajevo rejects all her allegations as untrue.

“Since the beginning of the conflict, the Mayor of the City of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, has clearly condemned the killing of all innocent civilians, therefore we do not accept anyone imposing tendentious statements aimed at discrediting the Mayor and the City of Sarajevo. Likewise, we would like to emphasize that neither the Israeli ambassador, nor anyone else, can shape the views of the City and the City is not and will not succumb to any pressure. From the City of Sarajevo, we exclusively send messages of peace to the whole world,” announced the Professional Service of the Mayor of the City of Sarajevo.

The Israeli ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina based in Tirana, Galit Peleg, reacted to the speech of the mayor of Sarajevo at today’s rally in support of Palestine. “If you support the Palestinians, why don’t you condemn Hamas”?, the Israeli ambassador asked on her Twitter profile.

The city of Sarajevo calls on the ambassador to focus her strength, instead of spreading such falsehoods, on calling for solutions for the benefit of the innocent Israeli and Palestinian people.
