The parking culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not yet at an enviable level. In September alone, the police officers of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton fined 230 drivers who parked their vehicles illegally in places designated for people with disabilities.

Since the beginning of this year, police officers of the Police Administration have issued 1,997 misdemeanor orders based on illegal parking in places designated for people with disabilities, and 49 vehicles have been moved.

Citizens are reminded that a fine of 200 BAM is prescribed for illegal parking in a place reserved for persons with disabilities, in accordance with the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Basics of Road Safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting from July 8, 2023.

The Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton continues to actively enforce increased surveillance and control of accessibility signs, i.e. parking in parking spaces marked for people with disabilities.

“We invite all road users to respect traffic regulations and show an appropriate level of awareness for the needs of drivers with disabilities,” said the CS Ministry of Interior.
