The Embassy of Kuwait helps the Restoration of one of the Artworks of the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina

historijski_muzej_bihExhibition “restoration in progress” presents the start of a new project of the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which aims to modernize and to fix the collection of the Museum of Art with 2.500 works of eminent painters of B&H, as well as artists from the region.

In the first phase of the work are selected for restoration 104 portraits of national heroes, created in the period from 1948 to 1953, painted with the technique of oil on canvas, which were signed by famous names of Yugoslav painters: Ismet Mujezinović, Vojo Dimitrijević, Mario Mikulić, Ljubo Lah, Hakija Kulenović, Petar Tiješić and others.

Staff of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait on behalf of the Ambassador Mohammad Khalaf Fadel chose the work of Ismet Mujezinović done in oil on canvas, portrait of Dragica Pravica, B&H heroine of the World War II, and donated funds to the Historical Museum for restoration of that work.

As a part of today’s visit to the museum, to the ambassador was awarded with the Charter of the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and under the picture will be stated that the act was saved due to his credit.

The help for the restoration is a gift of staff of the Embassy Kuwait to Ambassador Mohammad Khalaf Fadela to mark the end of his mandate in B&H.

Ambassador Khalaf expressed his gratitude to the staff of the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina as in extremely difficult conditions, they work to preserve the treasures that are kept in the Historical Museum, and that contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage of B&H, was released from the Embassy of the State of Kuwait.
