The European Commission has announced that it will work on improving the European capacity for drone detection and that it will propose expanding the registration requirements.
The Commission announcement states that the plan envisages the improvement of anti-drone testing capacity, the creation of the “reliable EU drone” label for safety equipment, and invitations to interested countries to join in the public procurement of anti-drone systems.
Air traffic in EU countries was seriously disrupted on several occasions last year as unidentified drones were spotted near major airports.
Drones were also detected in the zones of military bases in the territories of the Union members.
