Several fires are currently active in Herzegovina, and the situation near Neum and in the area of Konjic could be further aggravated by the wind predicted by the meteorological services.

According to the information confirmed to Klix.ba by Civil Protection Neum, the situation on Zaba Mountain is unchanged, and the fire, carried by strong winds, is spreading towards the village of Cerevo.

“At the moment there is no threat to the population and buildings, but in the afternoon, according to the weather forecast, there should be an additional strengthening of the wind and it could further complicate the situation regarding firefighting. The engagement of a helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is required,” it was stated by the Civil Protection.

Fire stations in Konjic, in the area of Glavatičevo near Sadine and Borci are still active. This morning, the helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina was operating, and they said from the Konjic Fire Brigade, the help should continue in the afternoon.

For now, the fire does not threaten the population or buildings.
