Sarajevo has a new museum, the first Virtual Reality Museum in our country. It recently opened its doors in the premises of HAB 387 to everyone who wants to experience the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its rich history in an innovative way.

Sarajevo Immersive Museum is a virtual reality museum that promotes Sarajevo as a tourist destination in a completely new way. Their primary task is the production and showing of short historical films in virtual reality, that is, in a 360 environment. Visitors now have the opportunity to experience the historically significant events that took place in Sarajevo in a new and different way.

JOVANA MUSIĆ, director and co-founder of the museum

“Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina have so many historical treasures and many tourists who come to Sarajevo every year. We wanted to offer something that would be completely different and new, so that tourists can experience our historical treasures in a new way.”

The Assassination of Franz Ferdinand and the Beginning of the First World War is the first film on offer, through which visitors have the opportunity to return to the past, more precisely to the moment and to the very place of one of the most significant historical events that took place in our region.

MIRELA ŠAHINOVIĆ PAŠIĆ, visitor

“It was definitely an experience that finally, with everything we read in books and what we learned through our formal education, just now somehow came to the fore. It’s like you’re right there in the moment with all the other participants.”

ZLATKO AVDIC, visitor

“The quality of this graphic material is really good and you somehow feel that atmosphere… that car ride, among those people, ordinary passers-by and spectators, it’s a very special event.”

In the coming period, the production of new films with themes such as “Sarajevo under siege”, “Sarajevo during the Ottoman period” is planned, as well as a film on the theme of “Olympics” before the fortieth anniversary, which will be celebrated in February.
