13181099_1176312412419713_585037121_nThe central marking of the Day of Golden Lilies at the territory of FBiH was officially held today, with the laying of wreaths and paying tribute at the memorial complex Slana Banja and with a parade through the streets of Tuzla.

The Golden Lily was the highest military decoration of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war. It was presented to soldiers and officers for the boldest, bravest and most tactic ventures against the aggressor.

Šefik Čizmić from Cazin spent the time during the aggression on BiH in the Bihać county of the Fifth Corps of ARBiH.

As he said, since the beginning of the war the fighters went head over heels with a single aim – to defend the homeland from the aggressor.

“At that time, we were unorganized and unarmed. We were fighting against an army which was one of the most powerful in Europe. However, we had something they did not. We had a heart that cannot be compared with any tank or plane,” said this disabled war veteran.

Central marking of the Day of Golden Lilies for the territory of FBiH was attended by the federal Minister for Issues of the Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War Salko Bukvarević. On this occasion, Bukvarević pointed out that every member of the ARBiH defended with dignity all citizens of this country.

“We are aware of the fact that members of the ARBiH were members of an anti-fascist liberation army and we are proud of that. The most courageous sons who are decorated with the Golden Lily for courage demonstrated directly during fighting are a special category that we appreciate and respect,” Bukvarević said.

Bukvarević highlighted that at this very moment the holders of the highest war decorations have their rights defined by law. So far, their rights have been fully implemented.
