The Government of the RS decided to put the Report of the Commission for Investigation of Events in and around Srebrenica from July 10 to 19, 1995, out of force. They adopted this decision at the special session that was held yesterday.

The report was made in Banja Luka on June and October 15, 2004, and the conclusion of the Government of the RS was adopted at the 16th special session that was held on October 29, 2004.

Moreover, reports of the Working Group of the RS from March 30 and September 30, 2005, for the implementation of conclusions from the final report of the Commission for Srebrenica with all the annexes and conclusions of the Government of the RS from March 31, 2005, were put out of force as well.

“For the purpose of a complete and true overview of the events that happened in Srebrenica and the region of Srebrenica in the period 1992-1995, and with the aim of strengthening the trust and tolerance among peoples in BiH and final reconciliation and coexistence of present and future generations, the Government of the RS is establishing an independent International Commission, which will determine the suffering of all peoples in the region of Srebrenica in the period 1992-1995 in an objective and impartial way. The composition and tasks of the Commission will be decided with a special decision,” as concluded at the session of the Government of the RS.

Moreover, the Government of the RS also decided to establish an independent international Commission, which will examine and make a report on the suffering of Serbs in Sarajevo in the period from 1991 to 1995, and its composition and tasks will be determined in a special decision.

This commission is established for the purpose of “an objective and impartial way of determining the suffering of Serbs in Sarajevo, and due to the failure to comply with the order of the Chamber for Human Rights of BiH from the Government of the FBiH”.
