The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the “subject involved” in the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, the FBI announced on Sunday.

Trump was grazed by a bullet in an attack at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Several shots rang out about five minutes after Trump began his speech at an outdoor rally in the town of Butler.
The former president held his right ear as secret service agents rushed onto the stage and laid him down under the podium, protecting him with their bodies.
The FBI has ruled the shooting Saturday night as an attempted assassination. “Tonight we had what we’re calling an attempted assassination of our former president, Donald Trump. It’s still an active crime scene,” said Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh Field Office Kevin Royek.
Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said the former president was “doing well.” “President Trump thanks law enforcement and emergency responders for their quick response during this heinous act. He is doing well and is currently being evaluated at a local medical facility. We will have more details soon,” Cheung said.
