The reception was attended by the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Bakir Izetbegović, Reis-ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein Effendi Kavazović, members of the diplomatic core in BiH and numerous other guests.

The host of the reception, the Ambassador of Pakistan to BiH Muhammed Yousaf, said in his addressing speech that the Day of Pakistan is being marked every year on March 23, ever since the resolution which demanded a separate homeland for Muslims of the southern Asia was adopted in 1940. Eventually, on August 14 in 1947, Pakistan was drawn on the map of the world.

Ambassador Yousaf assessed the relations of his country with BiH as excellent and brotherly, with great mutual sympathy and focus on support and improvement of economic cooperation.

According to the Ambassador Yousaf, Bosnia and Herzegovina is very important country of the Balkans for Pakistan. Consequently, great attention is being paid to good relations; for example, to the strengthening of trade relations that have improved by at least three or four times in the past two years.

Great contribution to the further strengthening of political, diplomatic and economic relations of the two countries will be given by the visit of the Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to Bosnia and Herzegovina which is expected in several months from now, the Ambassador announced.
