The New Labour Law in Force from the middle of the Month?

12969198_1753178318252178_1130964774_nLabour Law of the FBiH was adopted few days ago again in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH, but this time it was not followed by so much media fanfare as it was the first time when it was in the process of adoption.

From Parliament of the FBiH stated that it should enter into force 8 days after the publication in the official gazette. The Law was published yesterday in the Official Gazette of the FBiH.

To recall, deputies adopted the Labour Law by urgent procedure on the 30th of July last year, but the Constitutional Court of FBiH decided on the 17th of February 2016 that it should be returned to the House of Peoples, in the stage of proposing, because the session, or part of it in which was decided on the law, was not held in accordance with the Rules and therefore the Constitution of FBiH as well.

A group of 17 deputies requested the opinion of the Constitutional Court shortly after the session, stating that they had not enough time left to invest amendments.

The law, in the form of a proposal, was put on the agenda on the last day of March 2016, but the amendments that deputies proposed were rejected by a majority vote, thus the law is the same as the one which was adopted in July last year.
