The US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) announced today that individuals and political powerful people under sanctions are managing Republika Srpska as a family business, from which their family members and friends benefit.
On the official account on the X social network, the US Embassy in Sarajevo asked “what about the needs of the citizens of Republika Srpska” and “where is the money”.
In addition, the Embassy published reports from the Office of the US Treasury Department for Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on sanctions imposed on family members of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
These reports state that in October of last year, sanctions were imposed on Dodik’s son and daughter, Igor and Gorica Dodik, and the companies owned by them.
The US Embassy in BiH has been asking the authorities of Republika Srpska for days on X where the money for which that BiH entity borrowed through the stock market is. The embassy also provides information that through companies linked to the Dodik family, public funds were extracted from Republika Srpska with the aim of enriching themselves at the expense of the citizens of BiH and the functional authorities in the country.
