On the occasion of International Migrants’ Day, which is celebrated tomorrow, on December 18th, a fashion show with the symbolic name “The story about us” was held in the Sarajevo City Hall.

People on the move, migrants from three reception centers – in Blazuj, Usivak, and Bihac – took part in the preparation, starting from ideas, designs, all the way to the final realization.

The organizer of the event is the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the project was supported by the European Union (EU).

The coordinator of the Fashion Corner in the temporary reception center Usivak, fashion designer Aleksandra Lovric, explained that they were excited that in a short time, in six months, they managed to make a collection, a whole story of 40 different models.

“These are not only models created in workshops in camping centers, but we also had the full support of our textile industry. We started making protective masks, but then we realized that they can do much more,” Lovric pointed out.

According to her, a new collection was presented yesterday, and now she will take some time for herself.

“I believe we will expand regionally,” Lovric added.

The new head of the International Organization for Migration’s mission in BiH, Laura Lungarotti, emphasized they were proud to celebrate the birth of the new brand.
