The American administration has once again repeated the message that the United States of America is against the Israeli ground attack on Rafah, a city in the south of the Gaza Strip. It is a sort of response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who announced today that he will launch an attack on Rafah regardless of whether a ceasefire agreement with Hamas is reached.

“We do not want to see a comprehensive ground operation in Rafah. We don’t want to see an operation that doesn’t take into account the safety of the 1.5 million people who have taken refuge there,” said White House National Security Adviser John Kirby.

Kirby also emphasized that Israel has not yet submitted a military plan regarding Rafah to Washington and said the US is against attacking Rafah without reliable planning to protect civilians.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has announced that he will launch a ground attack on the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, regardless of whether an agreement is reached with Hamas on the exchange of hostages and a ceasefire, Fena writes.
