Deputy Director of the Labour and Employment Agency Željko Rajić recently attended the first round of negotiations in regard with the signing of an agreement of employment between the Council of Ministers and the Government of the Russian Federation.

The agreement will precisely regulate rights and obligations of employment of workers from BiH in Russia, as well as vice versa.

During the negotiations, specific provisions of the agreements were defined that are the basis for employment through the relevant institutions in BiH and the Russian Federation, which has not been the case, because the workers were employed by private companies, through different types of mediation, and the countries did not have any data on the mutual exchange of workforce.

A great interest in workers from BiH is best illustrated by the fact that the Russian Federation issued 2929 working permits to citizens of BiH in 2012, and for 2013 they planned to increase the number to 4000.

Workers from Bosnia were most involved in the construction of sports facilities in Sochi, a 2013 Winter Olympic host city.

Labour force will also be need for building the infrastructure for the World Football Cup and also for building the New Moscow.

Soon, the next round of talks should be held in BiH.
