The young tennis player Katarina Trivić, who died on Friday at the age of 21 after a battle with a serious illness, was buried today at the city cemetery in Vrbanja.

With the song “The Winner Takes It All”, an endless column of thousands of people and a river of tears, the heroine from Banja Luka, who fought a battle with a vicious disease for years, was sent to her eternal rest today.

Katarina Trivić was a junior member of the national team and champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in tennis. For several years in a row, she was the best junior player in Bosnia and Herzegovina in tennis, and she performed as a junior member of the BiH national team at the European team and individual championships.

At the age of 18, Katarina found out that she was suffering from leukemia, and she fought against the vicious disease for several years. In those years of her struggle, she encouraged other people who were also struggling in the same or similar way with the disease.

Unfortunately, she did not manage. The students and teachers of the Banja Luka High School, where she spent her high school days, said goodbye to Katarina.
The last greetings to Katarina were sent by those who did not know her personally, but her struggle and courage left an indelible mark in their hearts.

The Tennis Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina said that Katarina will be remembered for her cheerful spirit and the smile she always had in both the good and the difficult moments of her life, with sincere condolences to her family, friends and everyone who knew her, Klix.ba reports.
