Thousands of believers from all over the world go to Medjugorje to mark the 41st anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in this Herzegovinian town.

Many traveled for days from distant countries, and a large number of believers from our country traveled miles on foot to arrive in Medjugorje with their prayers and vows in honor of the Queen of Peace at the celebration of the 41st anniversary of the apparitions.

The parish vicar of Medjugorje, Fr. Renato Galic, mentionedthat the parishioners of Medjugorje have been intensively preparing for this day all this year.

“We left Humac, and we came here in the evening. We saw a lot of Ukrainian flags. In the 1990s, we prayed for peace in our country and in this area. Today we pray for peace in other countries, but also for peace in our lives, “ told Galic.

Holy Mass is celebrated from 6 a.m. in various languages, the afternoon program continues with a procession from the Apparition Hill to the Medjugorje Church of St. Jacob.

As reports of apparitions were repeated, over time, Medjugorje became one of the world’s most famous Marian pilgrimage destinations, and this small Herzegovinian town is visited annually by more than a million pilgrims.
