Three Proposals for Questionnaire

Members of the BiH Council of Ministers are expected to consider three proposals for the census in the framework of preparations for the census and households and housing in BiH, consider three proposals—half-open, how it was used in the trial census, open and third where the ‘others’ will be found as an option for ethnicity.

The Director of the Agency for Statistics in BiH Zdenko Milinović indicated in a letter several days ago to the BiH Ministry of Transport and Communication and the Coordinator of BIH for this project Damir Hadžić that the Census Bureau Agency sent to the Council of Ministers just one proposal for the census, the same one as on the trial list.

“Dnevni Avaz” said that in the letter Milinović said that the Agency considers that this model would exclusively be used on the census planned for October, and warned Hadžić that the RS insists that the census retains entity citizenship as a question, and that sensitive questions remains.

In addition to the questionnaire, the Ministry is expected to consider the proposal of the financing of the census.

This proposal provides for the payment of per diem staff that do not work in their own communities. Due to this, the budget for the census is increased by several million KM.

According to earlier assessments, the census in BiH should cost around 42 million KM.
