A Total of 6.241 Victims of Srebrenica Genocide Buried So Far in Potočari After Today’s Funerals

NAKON DANAŠNJE DŽENAZE U POTOÈARIMA UKOPANA UKUPNO 6.241 ŽRTVA GENOCIDA U SREBRENICI175 victims of genocide committed in July 1995 in Srebrenica are buried today at the memorial center Potočari.

The youngest victim buried today in Potočari is a boy Senad (Ramo) Beganović, who was only 14 years old when was killed and his remains were found in four different mass graves. The oldest victim was Hurem Begović, born in 1916.

Funeral of victims is attended by members of families, friends, many citizens, local and international authorities.

Unlike previous years, this year authorities did not address the audience, except the Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality Ćamil Duraković.

The number of victims buried so far in Potočari, after today’s funerals is 6.241. 421 victims were minors.

The youngest victim buried so far in Potočari is the newborn baby Muhić. Her remains were found in the mass grave in the surrounding of the Factory of accumulators in Potočari and was buried on 11 July last year. The oldest victim buried so far in Potočari is Šaha Izmirlić, born in 1901.

This afternoon, when those who came to the funeral of Srebrenica victims leave Potočari, will remain pain and grief to families of victims and to those who are still searching for their loved ones in hopes that in some of the mass graves or individual graves will find the remains and bury them with dignity.
