Rafting on the Neretva is attractive to both locals and tourists from all over the world, and in the summer months, dozens of boats go down the Neretva every day.
”Guests come from all over the world, from Arab countries, America, Poland, the Czech Republic…and a good number of them come from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). In terms of the number of guests, this year and last year are somewhat the same, and on weekends, about thirty, forty boats go down Neretvadaily, and the best years were those before the pandemic when 80 to 100 boats descended the Neretva per day,” said Kenan Dzumhur, the head of the “Rafting Neretva center” in an interview with agency Fena.
Follow the rules and instructions of the skipper
The descent on the Neretva takes about 3 and a half hours without breaks, and between four and a half and five hours with breaks.
”For the guests who come, the most important thing is to look at the equipment, to pay attention to its quality, and to follow the rules and instructions of the skipper,” he noted.
In addition to rafting, guests are also interested in visiting Tito’s bunker, Prenj mountain, the old town in Konjic, and visiting and spending the night at Lake Boracko, so, as he added, tourists in Konjic really have a great offer.
”Konjic is now a very good tourist destination and I think it is one of the better and bigger ones in terms of the offer,” he stressed.
The season is solid
He assesses that the season is solid and that the price change is felt by the guests as well.
”It can be said that it is not exactly 100%, but it is going in its own way,” he explained.
Oil prices have risen, and so have the prices of guest transportation, skipper services, as well as the price of food, which is connected to the price of rafting, which, according to him, has increased by some 30 percent compared to last year.
”The price of rafting per person without included food ranges from 40 to 50 BAM, and with food from 70 to 90 BAM, ” Dzumhur emphasized, Avaz writes.
