Transporters continue Protest as Supply Chain Disruptions expand

The Presidency of the Plenum of the Consortium “Logistics BiH” unanimously decided to continue the protest until the demands are met, while expanding the scope of the supply chain suspension.

The session also adopted an amendment to the Negotiation Platform, which was officially confirmed as a legitimate and unique negotiating document on behalf of the sector for talks with BiH institutions and international partners.

“We demand concrete and measurable results, not declarative promises. Negotiations must be transparent, inclusive and urgent, because any further delay deepens the crisis in the supply chains and threatens the economic stability of BiH,” the Consortium announced.

Among the key demands, the urgent scheduling of a session of the BiH Council of Ministers was highlighted, at which the only item on the agenda would be the consideration of measures to fulfill the first phase of the transport sector’s demands.

The plenum is demanding urgent binding decisions, including the adoption of the rulebook on the implementation of the Law on Excise Taxes, which provides for the refund of excise tax to carriers, a 50 percent discount on the use of highways in both entities, the signing of memorandums with the public enterprises “Autoceste FBiH” and “Autoputevi Republika Srpska” and the refund of VAT from EU countries.

The demands also include fiscal relief for carriers, acceleration of border procedures and the work of competent inspections, amendments to the rulebook on licensing and driver qualifications, and diplomatic communication with EU countries regarding the implementation of the /AETR/ agreement.

They emphasize that the current situation in the transport and logistics sector threatens the economic stability of the country, and call on the competent institutions to respond urgently.
