Transporters say they will not allow Fuel Tankers to cross the Border during the Protest

The coordinator of the Consortium “Logistika” Marko Ivanović stated that during the protest planned for Monday, March 23, the transporters will not allow fuel tankers to cross the border, while the decision on the meeting with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić has not yet been made.

“Fuel tankers will not be exempted during the protest. There is even a move to block the railway terminals for receiving fuel if the fuel is delivered by rail,” said Ivanović.

Ivanović says that the protest is aimed at stopping the transport of all goods across the border, in order to highlight the seriousness of the situation.

He specified that, as during previous protests, passenger transport will not be blocked, nor will the crossing of the border for ambulances, fire engines, vehicles with medicines and hospital equipment.

Ivanovic said that it has not yet been decided whether transporters will respond to Minić’s invitation for a meeting on Monday, March 23, in Banja Luka, in order to try to find a common solution that would ensure the regular functioning of the economy and the existence of transporters at a time when the energy situation is becoming increasingly complex.

“We have not yet discussed whether we will go and who would possibly go to that meeting,” said Ivanovic.

Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić proposed yesterday that a meeting be held in the Government with representatives of the “Logistics BiH” Consortium on Monday, March 23, while Republika Srpska Minister of Trade and Tourism Ned Puhovac appealed to transporters from BiH to allow fuel tankers to pass through in the event of blockades in order to avoid difficulties in supply.

After previous efforts to find a solution to the 90/180 day stay limit for professional drivers from BiH in Schengen countries, the Consortium “Logistika” yesterday issued a third and final call for a protest by transporters on Monday, March 23.

Transporters from BiH are demanding the right to unhindered international transport, a clearly defined status for professional drivers and an amnesty for all entry bans imposed on drivers from BiH so far.
