trebinje1There are 30 percent more overnight stays in Trebinje this year than in comparison to last year, and it experienced an increase in comparison with the rest of the RS and BIH, where the average is from 1-4 percent.

The Director of the Tourist Organization Tatjana Bulajić said that the most number of tourists that decide to spend a night in Trebinje come from Serbia.

They are surprised with the visits by people from Turkey, South Korea, and a large number of tourists from Greece, from former Yugoslavia, France, Italy, Germany and Australia.

When it comes to one-day visits, the most number of tourists come from Russia.

“According to the statistics by the Tourist Organization, the tourists that visited this area come from 56 countries throughout the world’’, said Bulajić.

In the garden of the hotel ‘Platani’ a half-hour cultural program was organized for tourists from Belgium and other tourists.

They showed tourists the local customs of this region through song and dance. The Belgian tourists expressed enthusiasm and said that Trebinje is a unique city.

Bulajić explained that the 120 tourists from Belgium travelled with a cruiser from Dubrovnik for a short visit to Trebinje, and organizers wanted to leave an indelible impression on them with the concert.

“This is the first time we have had guests come here from cruisers, and we hope this will continue’’, said Bulajić. This year as well, tourists are visiting cultural-historical and religious areas, as well as wineries.

She said that the reason for such a good turnout this year of tourists is the promotion of the city by the Tourist Organization in the last period at local and international fairs.
