Turkish Development Agency (TIKA) to Prepare New Projects for BiH in 2015

TIKATurkish Development Agency (TIKA) each year in Bosnia and Herzegovina implements a number of projects that are essential for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people, told FENA Assistant Director of TIKA Nedžad Avdić.

TIKA shall, he says, as it has done so far, in 2015 as well, implement a certain number of projects in the field of education, health, agriculture and the protection of cultural and historical monuments.

“We are currently working on the preparation of the budget for 2015 and the projects that will be realized,” said Avdić.

He listed some of projects like Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka, the Emperor’s Mosque in Sarajevo, Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge in Višegrad, the project of walnut plantation in Kakanj, transport of the remaining 15 buses for the cantonal public transportation enterprise GRAS and reconstruction of 600 houses in Maglaj and Sanski Most that were damaged in recent floods.

“In the last month, some projects have been completed, and these are the construction of a secondary school in Cazin, museum building in Džebari, in Živinice, the project of plantation of raspberries in the Maglaj, Zavidovići, Zenica and Žepče,” explained Avdić.

Concerning the engagement of TIKA in relation to transport of 20 trams donated by the Republic of Turkey to the City of Sarajevo, he said that he could not provide more detailed information as TIKA has not yet been directly involved in the mentioned project.
