tuzla ekapijaAccording to data presented by the Tourist Community of the Tuzla Canton, the Tuzla Canton was visited by 3 158 tourists in May and they stayed for 7.739 nights.

“In comparison to last year, the number of tourists increased by 8.2 percent and the number of overnight stays by 2.2 percent which means we’re on the way of making 2014 a record year in terms of tourist visits and overnight stays,” said Nedret Fazlić, Director of the Tourist Community of the Tuzla Canton.

In the first five months of 2014, the Tuzla Canton was visited by more than 16 000 guests with over 40 thousand overnight stays which is, in comparison to last year, 32 percent more in overnight stays and 22 percent more in the number of tourists.

The Tourist Information Center was opened six years ago and its task was to be at tourists’ service and provide them with necessary information for some tourist destinations.

With the opening of air lines for Germany and Holland, employers of Dubrave Airport expect between 120 and 130 000 visitors will land on this airport in 2014.

Looking up to neighboring countries which develop ethno-tourism, the Tuzla Canton also heads in that direction.
