Two earthquakes struck Vranța, Romania, early Saturday, the National Institute for Earth Physics (INFP) said.

According to the INFP, the first quake was recorded at 4:19 a.m. and the second at 5:11 a.m., both measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, digi24 reported.

The epicenters were near Focșani, Buzău, Sfântu-Gheorghe and Brașov, at a depth of about 130 kilometers. This is the third earthquake in Vranța this week – the previous one occurred on Wednesday, also measuring 4.2, Tanjug reported.

The strongest earthquake last year was recorded on September 16 in Buzău County, measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale.
