U.S. Launches Overnight Airstrikes on Yemen

US airstrikes on Yemen’s capital have killed 12 people and wounded 30, the Houthi rebels say.
The overnight strikes hit areas including the provinces of Amran, Hodeidah, Marib and Saada.

The US military’s Central Command declined to answer questions about the attack or discuss civilian casualties, the Times of Israel reported.
The Houthis said the strike hit a market in the Shuub district of Sanaa, an area that has been targeted by the US in the past.

Footage broadcast by the Houthi al-Masirah satellite news channel showed damage to vehicles and buildings in the area.

The attacks intensified after talks resumed in Rome between the US and Iran over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program, which Washington has linked to its attacks in Yemen.

Since March 15, the United States has launched a large-scale military campaign in Yemen in support of Israel. Alongside the UK, U.S. forces have repeatedly struck civilian areas, including government buildings and hospitals, aiming to disrupt Yemeni military actions in solidarity with Palestinians enduring Israeli attacks since October 2023.

Since November, Yemeni forces have carried out strikes against Israeli-occupied territories and vessels linked to Israel in the Red Sea and nearby waters, in response to the ongoing assault on Gaza. The Yemeni government has consistently stated that its operations will continue until the war on Gaza ends, where over 51,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed by Israeli forces.
