babyAccording to the estimations by the UN demographists and studies conducted for the needs of the Red Cross of BiH, the number of residents in BiH will not increase significantly in the next 20 years and, if the current tendency of birthrate and mortality rate continues, in 300 years there will be no residents at this territory.
Number of deaths in BiH has been larger than the number of births for a decade now, even by more than 50.000.

While BiH lost one small town until several years back, it has been losing a medium-sized in each of the past years. The situation is further worsened by the continuous emigration of population, given that 1.7 million people migrated from BiH so far, of which 70.000 migrated in the past two years. Those are mostly young people capable of reproduction.

Considering the population structure, BiH is becoming a country of seniors and their number will double in 35 years, thus this area will have the largest number of senior citizens.
In the population structure in BiH, the number of citizens older than 65 is equal to the number of people under the age of 17.

In the entire BiH, there is only 100.000 children between three and six years of age.
