Una National Park breaks all Records

The tourist season in Krajina is coming to an end. A few tourists are still enjoying Bihac’s autumn, but all the authorities are pleased by the fact that this year, for the first time after the coronavirus, was a successful year.

Krajina abounds in numerous tourist pearls, and for sure, the most important one for everyone is the Una National Park, a project that, according to the mayor of Bihac, Elvedin Sedić, must be a generator of tourism development.

“This year, for the first time after the coronavirus, we are recording good numbers of visitors. Accommodation capacities are already too small to meet all needs. Throughout the year, we are full in terms of hotel accommodation, and apartments and houses are occupied during the season,” said Sedić.

He added that by rebalancing the budget, they asked for additional funds for the completion of the road to Štrbački buk, and he also points out that for the additional development of tourism, it is important to draw up a regulatory plan within the development zones of the National Park.

“In order to be able to build hotels, we must have a regulatory plan to know where and what we can build. We have investors, but we don’t have a plan. We also have several constructions where people want to build, we don’t give them, so then they look for a loophole in the law to do something “, adds Sedić.

He points out that the regulatory plan would solve illegal construction and would regulate the hotel sector and increase the number of accommodation capacities.

This tourist season alone, 140,000 tickets were sold in the Una National Park, and a large number of tourists who visit Bihać do not visit the Una National Park and Štrbački buk.

Among the capital projects of Bihać is the restoration of the road infrastructure in order to facilitate access to Bihać’s tourist pearls, Klix.ba reports.
