nuclear waistAfter the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (PA BiH) adopted a resolution in which BiH strongly opposes to the construction of nuclear waste disposal in Trgovska Gora, on the border of BiH and Croatia, delegates of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH will do the same today.

Although in contradiction with all European conventions, Croatia still does not give up from the construction of nuclear waste disposal site on the border with BiH.

Trgovska Gora in the Croatian municipality Dvor is less than 3 kilometers away from the border with BiH, and this location is crisscrossed by streams which are central to the catchment area of Una River and Kupa River.

In the meantime, BiH is actively negotiating with Croatia on the option of giving up the idea of constructing nuclear waste disposal site on the border with BiH. Unique resolution in which BiH opposes to the project was agreed. The resolution will definitely be confirmed by the House of Peoples of the PA BiH.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidency of BiH are included in the whole process, in order to lobby and find the best solutions through diplomatic channels.

Delegate in the House of Peoples Mario Karamatic said that if they do not manage to achieve anything through resolution and diplomatic channels, BiH will seek justice from international institutions.

With the construction of the disposal site at the proposed location, a total of 230,000 residents in BiH, as well as Croatia, would be directly affected.
