Unemployment Rate decreased in March

Unemployment and Wages in B&H oslobodjenje.baOn the day of March 31, 2016 there was 530,370 people on the records of institutions and employment services in BiH. Compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed persons was decreased by 6,314 persons or 1.18 %. Of the total number of people who are searching for job, 274,764 of them or 51.81 % are women.

Unemployment in the FBiH was decreased by 5727 persons (1.47 %), in Republika Srpska by 366 persons (0.27 %), and in Brcko District by 221 persons (1.84 %).

In the structure of persons that are seeking employment, on the 31st of March 2016:

Unqualified workers: 141,894, or 26.8 %,

Semi-skilled workers: 9289, or 1.8 %,

Qualified workers: 178,996 or 33.8 %,

Highly skilled workers: 2,808 or 0.5 %,

NSS (Primary school education) workers: 1,453 or 0.3 %

SSS (High school education) workers: 146,091 or 27.6 %,

VSS (Higher education) workers: 7475 or 1.4 % and

VSS (University degree) workers: 42,364 or 8.0 %.

 

The largest number of registered unemployed persons are those with third level education or qualified workers who make 33.8%, and workers with high school education who make 27.6 %.

A total of 19,724 persons were deleted from the register of employment in March. From this number, 13,329 persons were employed.

At the same time, 6,231 persons terminated their employment, while employers registered need for 6,140 new workers in this period.

According to the Agency for Statistics of BiH, in February 2016, the number of employees in legal entities in BiH amounted to 718,281, of which 297,849 were women. Compared to January 2016, the number of employed people has not changed, but the number of employed women increased by 0.4 %.

Rate of registered unemployment for February 2016 was 42.8 % and compared to January 2016, it decreased by 0.1 % point.
