More than 10 war crimes suspects were found, prosecuted and deported from the United States to BiH in the past decade, in order to be prosecuted by the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, and among them were suspects of all nationalities and both genders.

This was noted after the meeting of the acting Prosecutor General of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH Gordana Tadic with representatives of the Immigration and Customs Service of the US, Michael MacQueen and Michael McVicker.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH Izet Odobasic and the Head of Section III in this Department, Stanko Blagic, and Mark Shaffer from the Homeland Security, the Head of the Unit for investigation of the perpetrators of violations of human rights and war crimes.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Immigration and Customs Service of the US have a good and continuous cooperation in detecting, identifying and prosecuting persons that were involved in war crimes and managed to emigrate to the USA after the end of war in BiH.

Representatives of these two institutions have a joint mission and aim, and that is to fight against the impunity and hiding of war crimes suspects, and their common goal is bringing all suspects to justice, as announced from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
