6On Wednesday, 16 December 2015, at 10 am, the Vice-President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Melika Mahmutbegović, visited the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST).

The Vice-President and her assistants and advisors were welcomed by the Chancellor of University SSST, Academician Ejup Ganić, and the University’s academic and administrative staff.

The visitors took a tour of the University’s campus and spent some time looking around the labs, auditoriums and classrooms of the Faculty of Medicine – the Sarajevo Medical School, accompanied by the Faculty’s professors and assistants, who were led by the Dean of the Sarajevo Medical School, Professor Semira Galijašević, ScD.

The Vice-President thus had the opportunity for a personal insight into the highest standards and optimum conditions provided by SSST University. SSST’s campus includes the most modern auditoriums and lecture halls, laboratories for practical classes, indoor and outdoor amphitheatres, a bookstore, a library, an IT centre, computer labs, a centre for digital media, rooms for student clubs, a cafe and a student restaurant with a terrace and a heliport, available to all faculties.

The visit continued with a conversation about the importance of achieving education at the highest level, and the work of SSST on building a modern scientific research institute for medical science and information technology, on the basis of funds provided through a grant from the Government of Saudi Arabia. The Vice-President took the opportunity to congratulate Chancellor Ganić on SSST’s recently gained special recognition for the Best University in BiH in 2015, as well as the recognition for the Best Manager in the field of Education and Science.

This successful visit by the Vice-President of the Federation of BiH, and the support she expressed for SSST on this occasion, were received as an incentive to the further work and development of this institution, and marked the beginning of another successful cooperation and friendship.

Ever since its establishment, SSST University has, on its path to excellence, maintained a tradition of open doors to all interested parties and potential partners.
