Ideal Day Bjelašnica radiosarajevo.baWinter tourist season 2016/2017 is ending in BH mountains. Ski centers and caterers that are working on Bjelasnica, Igman, Jahorina, and Vlasic are satisfied with recorded visits, and they stated that weather served them much better this year than in the previous season.

Employees have already started working on new projects and preparations for the summer, as well as the next winter season. Olympic beauty Bjelasnica will experience a real flourishing. Already from mid-April, they will start with works that will enrich the offer of the mountain, as well as its look.

“In comparison to the previous season, this one was much better. We recorded a large number of visitors. With the 31st of March, we are closing the season and moving to the implementation of capital projects. We will start with disassembly of three seater ski lift and install and setting of six seater lifts that will go from Babin do to intermediate stop, a four-seater cable car that will go from the intermediate stop to the top of Bjelasnica and artificial refreshing that will cover the pre-war path downhill and cradle,” said Midhat Hubijar, director of the ZOI’84.

They expect to open the next winter season much earlier thanks to artificial snowing, and that it will last for a month longer. They will also make the artificial lake on the site Siljak on the area of 40,000 square meters. This lake, says Hubijar, will be useful for the design of artificial snowing and plumbing that goes to Siljak hill. The Government of CS and responsible ministry already secured the money for this project. Works should be completed by the 15th of September.

Jahorina recorded more than one million passages on the cable car this season and a total of 120,000 skiers, which is much better than before.

On Mount Vlasic are also very satisfied with the season. Sead Deljkic from hotel Pahuljica said that their number of visits was very good, and they have already started with preparations for the summer season.
