The Prime Minister of the RS Radovan Višković believes that the trial of the President of the RS Milorad Dodik before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to non-compliance with the decisions of the High Representative “could turn into the trial of Christian Schmidt.”
Višković stated that Dodik’s defense has the right to call Schmidt as a crown witness within the entire process and case, which will be done.
“Schmidt will have to respond to that call, although it would be good if he didn’t. I believe that all this will turn into a trial of Schmidt, and not of Dodik as the president of the RS and Miloš Lukić as the head of the “Official Gazette” – said Višković and “expressed the hope that in the whole process the people from the BiH judiciary will preserve their dignity despite various pressures.”
Lawyer Nobilo
He said that Croatian lawyer Anto Nobilo, who is participating in the defense of Dodik, told him that what is happening in this regard in the 21st century in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Balkans and at the gates of the EU is not normal.
“Nobilo says on the basis of legal facts that all that is happening in BiH is not democratic and civilizational, nor constitutional,” that here we have a protector, a colonial power, as well as an individual who falsely presents himself as a high representative and gives himself the right to, in addition to existing institutions and elected representatives, passes laws and changes the Constitution – said Višković last night for Prnjavor Television “K3” and added that Schmidt and the Peace Enforcement Council in BiH (PIC) should not be given importance, “because they do not exist for the RS.”
He considers it “regrettable that the judicial authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina are leading the process against the democratically elected president of the RS and calling him to criminal responsibility, even though he was doing his constitutionally guaranteed job.”
“If Dodik, by signing certain decrees on the promulgation of the law, did not comply with the Constitution of the RS, which in all respects is harmonized with the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he could be held criminally responsible,” said Višković and expressed the hope that the high representatives will be held accountable for this and that their role will be clarified.
When it comes to the recent meetings in Brussels, in which numerous representatives participated, Višković stated that there, like a hundred times before, stories were heard about support and swearing in the European path, but that some “changed the board” as soon as they are back.
The Prime Minister of the RS said that he was referring to the parties with headquarters in Sarajevo, and that, unfortunately, “it happens all the time that he remains silent when they do not accept something.”
“And when the Serbs do that, foreign, media and any other pressure is put on the RS in the sense that we are the bad guys, separatists who work against BiH and European integration. The paradox is that no one advocates for the preservation of Bosnia and Herzegovina more than we from the RS,” pointed out Višković.
When asked whether Bosnia and Herzegovina will be closer to joining the EU next year, Višković said that at the last meetings in Brussels and in a conversation with some responsible people of the EU, he became convinced of the fact that “Europe is wandering”.
Support for Trump
“In connection with this, the question is often raised as to how long Europe will remain in this capacity, because it is facing great challenges. It strengthens the parties that go in the direction of protecting the sovereignty of their countries,” stated Višković.
He added that presidential elections in the USA are expected next year, where the RS does not hide its support for Donald Trump, who publicly said that he would easily end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
“They can call us Russophiles as they like, but my wish is that this, as well as the conflict in the Middle East, end as soon as possible, because we in Bosnia and Herzegovina have also paid too high a price for this in terms of inflation and price increases, including energy, on what we could not influence,” said the prime minister of RS.
He stated that inflation in the RS, according to data for October, was at the level of 3.8 percent.
“I expect it to be even lower in November and December and to fall to three percent, so that by the end of the year it will be somewhere at the level of, perhaps, eight percent for 2023,” said Višković, Avaz reports.
