According to the last report of the World Economic Forum (WEF) before the pandemic, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) is among the European countries with the worst roads. Only Moldova is listed as a country with worse roads than BiH.

The report was compiled on the basis of the responses of 12.987 business executives from 139 countries of the world. The respondents rated the quality of roads on a scale of one out of seven. The report stated that the Netherlands with a score of 6.4 has the best roads on the Old Continent.

The five European countries with the worst roads are Malta (3.3), Ukraine (3.0), Romania (3.0), BiH (2.8) and Moldova (2.6). At the world level, Malta is in 106th place, Ukraine in 114th, Romania in 119th, BiH in 121st, and Moldova in 127th place.

The five countries with the worst roads in the world are Chad (1.9), Mauritania (2.0), Madagascar (2.0), Yemen (2.1), Haiti (2.1) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (2. 1).

During 2020, traffic accidents in the countries of the European Union (EU) caused the death of 18.800 people, while half a million people were injured. Europe has the safest roads compared to the rest of the world.

The Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, and Finland had the lowest number of deaths per million inhabitants. These are the countries that, according to the aforementioned report, are among the countries with the best traffic infrastructure, reports Euronews.
