Who asked HR Schmidt to dismiss President of Republika Srpska?

The storm between the high representative – the president of Republika Srpska – entity opposition is not abating. This was fueled by Christian Schmidt’s new statement that the opposition leaders in Republika Srpska asked him to use the Bonn powers and dismiss Dodik. This caused a storm of reactions, both from the opposition and the authorities in Republika Srpska.

Schmidt’s claim that opposition leaders asked him to remove Milorad Dodik from the political scene shed new light on the turbulent political relations in the Republika Srpska.

“It is not easy to be the opposition in the Republika Srpska. But I could tell you the place and time when their leaders, their managers asked me to remove Dodik using the Bonn powers,” said high representative.

The opposition reacted immediately, claiming that Schmidt’s statement was a pure fabrication, which, they claim, showed that he was in fact Dodik’s man.

BRANISLAV BORENOVIĆ, PDP

“Obviously, that tourist in BiH is an employee of Milorad Dodik who is trying to discredit the opposition together with him, in order to stop anyone from confronting the regime, he will not succeed, because these are brutal untruths.”

NEBOJŠA VUKANOVIĆ, List for justice and order

“This is just a confirmation that Christian Schmidt is in constant contact and that all the moves made by the international community are in the interest of Milorad Dodik, and now he is clearly angry that we did not fall into his trap and went to the meeting in Banja Luka, so now he is trying to compromise us .”

On the other hand, this statement by Šmit for the SNSD showed that the opposition members are traitors to the Republika Srpska.

SRĐAN MAZALICA, SNSD

“He exposed them as the greatest traitors and collaborators. It is sad that they believe that anyone in Republika Srpska would accept the dismissal of Milorad Dodik.”

Analysts commented on the high representative’s non-arrival in Banjaluka, the opposition’s failure to attend the meeting, and finally today’s statement by Schmidt as follows:

“That was perhaps the ultimate conspiracy theory that everything was the result of an agreement between Dodik and Schmidt, and the opposition representatives mostly approach that thesis that everything is a show and that neither of them think well of the citizens,” says analyst Mladen Bubonjić.

And the citizens, without going into the analysis of political statements, and who is right and who is wrong, in recent days, at least based on several polls, are mildly confused by what is happening on the political scene. It can be concluded that all this only diverted attention from the real, primarily existential problems of the people living here in this country.
