Will a Memorial for the killed Children of Prijedor be built?

children-prijedorA meeting of representatives of the initiative for the construction of a memorial for the killed children of Prijedor during the aggression with the delegate in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Admir Čavka and councilor in the City Assembly Prijedor MIrsad Duratović was postponed.

At the meeting, participants were supposed to agree on the further steps in the initiative, which was launched for the first time two years ago.

In June this year, the City Assembly Prijedor did not accept the initiative for construction of the monument, and parents of 102 killed children announced a legal combat. The City Administration claims that the initiative was not rejected, but that the location where the monument is supposed to be built is disputed.

This institution stated that the families of the killed children are advised to find a location for the monument, but that it cannot be in front of the Municipality or in the promenade. The meeting was rescheduled for the end of the week.
