After an unknown person or several of them left a cut ball in front of basketball player Edin Salaharevic‘s house in Vlasenica, the Association of Genocide Victims and Witnesses announced. They say that the event cannot be treated as a coincidence, but as a clear attempt to intimidate and threaten.

As is well known, a few days ago a cut ball was found in front of the former family home of the brutally murdered Edin Salaharevic. The gruesome act caught the basketball player’s brother Nedim, who was visiting the house in Vlasenica.

Members of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide expressed their concern about this event, stressing that it cannot be treated as a coincidence, but as a clear attempt to intimidate and threaten.

“Nedim Salaharevic recently testified before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in the proceedings against persons accused of the persecution of Bosniak civilians in Vlasenica during the same period. This brave act exposed him to great pressures and risks. This incident not only caused serious concern in the local community, but also among all those who support justice and human rights,” say the Association of Genocide Victims and Witnesses.

They called on the competent authorities to urgently investigate this case and ensure the safety of Nedim Salaharevic.

“We also want to remind that justice must prevail in all cases related to crimes against humanity. We call for full cooperation with judicial authorities and to ensure that all perpetrators are held accountable for their actions. We expect that local and international institutions will continue to monitor this situation and provide support to Salaharevic and his family in these difficult times,” the association points out.

The Association of Genocide Victims and Witnesses ultimately concluded that justice and peace must prevail over fear and violence.
