Work Actions create a better Environment for Life in BiH

Voluntary work actions today are definitely one of the social phenomena of the past, but it is also a fact that in some places there are still young people who grow up with the feeling that by participating in the actions, they give something useful to society.

A team of young people gathered around Amel Begovic from Bogusici near Gorazde has been participating in various actions for years, which ultimately produce great results in the place where they live.

A few years ago, they restored the famous “kiseljak” in this area, a former well-known mineral water spring that had been completely forgotten, and these days, thanks to the support of the city administration and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), they have completely reconstructed the section of the road from the village of Bosinj to Kiseljak. Part of the funds for the project, which cost more than 42.000 BAM, was allocated by the “Prijatelji Bogusica” (eng. Friends of Bogusici).

“The main initiative is led by our president, and we help this action to continue and be fully realized,” says Rasid Tanjo, one of the participants in the action.

Hamza Bukva emphasized that it is an honor for him to be a participant in labor actions today.

“It’s an honor for me because I help my locals, and the road was disastrous, there were potholes every ten or 15 meters, now we’ve done everything,” Hamza stated.

The locals of Bogusici are very active, and the results of their work are very visible. The recipe for success is simple, according to Amel Begovic, president of the Bogusici Local Community.

“Community is the key to success. It is simply our will and goal to do something useful and do our best. It is our model not to wait for someone else to do it for us. Several shorter sections of the road in our local community have been reconstructed several times, and this time completely. This is an integral part of the work when it comes to asphalt, due to the damage to the ends of the asphalt, in order to prevent this from happening, we install curbs so that there is no damage,” Begovic explained.

This team is active in cleaning actions, removal of mini illegal landfills, and other activities, Klix.ba reports.
