Work began on additional Isolation Ward in Sarajevo

On Thursday morning, work began on the formation of an isolation ward for the accommodation and treatment of Covid-19 patients in the premises within the General Hospital “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakas” in Sarajevo.

“We are happy that the reconstruction of the Garrison ambulance and the hospital of the former military hospital is underway. The facility is returning to its home, ie the General Hospital, where an isolation ward for Covid-19 patients will be located, where the staff of our health institution will work,” prof. dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanovic, director of the General Hospital stated, Klix.ba news portal reports.

After the pandemic, it will be a hospital complex that will be made available to sick fellow citizens.

“This will be a center of excellence, both as an isolation ward and tomorrow as a hospital capacity to treat other diseases,” Gavrankapetanovic concluded.
