Works on Bjelasnica Mountain: Assembly for Four-Seaters began Today

Works on Bjelasnica are in full swing and it’s expected that this Olympic mountain will be shine again by the new winter season and once again be one of the most attractive destinations for winter sports fans. Most of the preparatory works are completed, that materials are delivered, water pipes are being laid down, and assembly for four-seaters are beginning today.

Most of the earth and concrete works for the four-seater, six-seater and snow guns are completed, while 30 guns are delivered for that purpose. According to ZOI’84 Olympic Center Sarajevo, anchors for pillars have arrived, as have the construction for the starting point and parts of the pillars for the six-seaters.

A part of the construction of the incoming station has already arrived, while about 3,800 meters of water pipes have been laid down. Parts of the forest are being removed so that the pipes could be installed on pillar 8.

It’s expected that the winter season on Bjelasnica, after completion of the works, will last between five and six months. Thanks to the 16 million BAM worth project, Bjelasnica will be able entirely covered in snow within 48 hours, while the six-seats will have 65 cabins which will go from Babin Do to Medustanica at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour, which means that the current 13 minute ride will be only 5,5 minutes.
